We ensure reliable service through solid resources

Trust In Service

We invite you to visit our offices and see all we have done to make our lawyers' time as productive as possible on behalf of our clients. Our sophisticated networked computer system, centralized filing system and state of the art phone system, combined with judicious use of email, voice mail, and fax communications make the flow of work within and outside our office as efficient and reliable as possible.

Our extensive library includes books, topical services, CD-ROM resources, high speed Internet, Lexis and Westlaw computerized legal research resources. It allows our lawyers to accomplish more, and far faster, than would otherwise be possible. Our outstanding staff of paralegals, legal secretaries and administrative personnel is highly skilled and enthusiastic legal education is required and encouraged through local and national conferences.

We help clients achieve efficiencies by offering the highest level of legal skills and resources.

Fees and Retainers

At the outset of a matter, we discuss with the client the likely services and fees as clearly as possible. The less experience a client has with our firm, the more time we usually devote to this understanding. We furnish to the client an engagement letter setting forth the scope of the work we have been hired to do, and the facts, assumptions, and understandings upon which we are proceeding. A retainer may be asked for as a part of the fee agreement, and can vary from case to case. Retainers are held in the Younge & Hockensmith COLTAF trust account.

We Achieve Efficiency

Our sophisticated systems and resources allow our layers to accomplish a flow of work that is reliable and far more efficient than would otherwise be possible. We strive to bring the highest level of legal skills and resources.

Our outstanding staff is highly skilled and enthusiastic about delivering responsive and polished service.

When our work is to be billed on an hourly basis, we provide a range within which our fees should fall along with an explanation of factors or developments that would cause our fees to be higher or lower. The more demanding the assignment or the more pressing the timetable for the completion of the work, the more it is likely to cost. We also try to break down the cost to the client at various stages of the work. Likewise, if during the course of our work there are unexpected developments that will cause greater delays or costs than we estimated, we discuss them with the client promptly.

Our legal services are generally billed in itemized form based upon the time and responsibility involved. Some of our services are performed at a flat or quoted fee. We are also willing to handle certain plaintiff's and class action litigation on a contingent fee basis, in which the fee is a percentage of the amounts recovered for the client.

Subject to our clients' approval, we assign legal work to the professional who can perform it properly for the lowest total cost. Cost savings are only a part of this judgment. Legal services are not a commodity. The results obtained in a matter, and the time needed to obtain them, vary from lawyer to lawyer and from firm to firm. We set our fees to give the best overall value. The client always has the option of asking that work be done by a lawyer with whom he is particularly comfortable, so long as we agree that the lawyer is capable of doing the work.

We have two goals: In all our fee arrangements. First, we seek always to give our clients good value for their fees. Second, we work to make sure there are no surprises when it comes to fees.
